Ljubljana

Commemorative coins issued to honour the 5th centenary of the birth of Primož Trubar available for sale from Monday, 26 May 2008

From Monday, 26 May 2008, Deželna banka Slovenije will offer for commercial sale commemorative coins issued by the Republic of Slovenia to honour the 5th centenary of the birth of Primož Trubar, the famous reformer who gave the Slovene people their first book in Slovene. Coins will be available for sale in its offices at Kolodvorska 9 and Miklošičeva 4 in Ljubljana. As of Tuesday, 27 May 2008, the commemorative coins (the entire issue, less the number of advance orders placed with the Bank of Slovenia), will be available at all 88 units of Deželna banka Slovenije across Slovenia. Each individual will be able to purchase up to 25 commemorative coins.

The commemorative coin issued to honour the 5th centenary of the birth of Primož Trubar is a legal means of payment across the Eurozone. Its technical characteristics make it identical to the regular Euro coins. The national side of the coin portrays the left profile of Primož Trubar in the centre, with »PRIMOŽ TRUBAR« and »1508-1586« being printed in a semi-circle on the left side, and »SLOVENIJA 2008« being printed on the bottom right side.
